Predecessor

In project management, a predecessor represents a process that lies before another process. The dependency between the two tasks is decisive and not the chronological sequence. A predecessor can also have several successors.

In order to identify a predecessor, it is necessary to find out which task must already be completed. These can be displayed graphically with the help of a Gantt chart or a network diagram.
