2020 – A year full of challenges
The past year brought with it many challenges as well as entirely new requirements. Many companies had to restructure their processes and working methods. To support them in doing so, new functions were specifically developed for projectfacts.
It is now possible to map and document short-time work in projectfacts. Additional categories for employee attendance and absence also make planning considerably easier.
In response to the German federal government’s temporary reduction in VAT, the “VAT correction mode” was introduced in projectfacts. This function automatically adjusts the tax rate for line items in the document types quotation, order, and invoice that fall within the affected period. You can read here about how to activate the mode and what further options projectfacts offers you for manually adjusting VAT.
2021 – What is important
The coming year also brings new requirements, which we have implemented in pf.
VAT in 2021
Based on the current status, VAT will be raised back to its previous level from 01.01.2021. If you have activated the “VAT correction mode” in projectfacts, you do not need to make any further changes for your line items to be displayed again with the correct VAT. If you changed the tax rates manually, the items will need to be adjusted back to 19% or 7% VAT.
ZUGFeRD 2
In order to meet all the requirements of the current standards in the field of digitalisation and data protection, the latest version of the invoice format ZUGFeRD – ZUGFeRD 2 – will be introduced in projectfacts with the upcoming release. A ZUGFeRD invoice contains, in addition to the PDF format, an XML file in which the invoice information is included in structured form. This enables automatic, electronic further processing of the invoice. The new version fulfils, among other things, the requirements of the European standard EN16931 as well as the national business rules and administration-specific provisions.
New authentication standard for Office 365
Microsoft is changing the authentication method for Office 365. From the end of January 2021, the standard will also be compatible in projectfacts.
