New Rest Days over Easter 2021
Maundy Thursday & Easter Saturday were to be declared rest days in 2021. We show you how to set up such a rule in projectfacts.
In the course of the new Corona resolutions of Monday, 22 March 2021, Maundy Thursday (1 April 2021) and Easter Saturday (3 April 2021) were declared unscheduled rest days this year. Below we briefly explain everything important about the changeover in projectfacts.
Update of 24.03.2021
Update of 24.03.2021 In a public statement, Chancellor Merkel announced today that the rest days over Easter that were envisaged in the course of yesterday’s Corona resolutions will now be cancelled. For you, this means: unless a different rule is adopted in your federal state, the following article is not relevant to you. In particular, you do not need to make any changes to the public holiday calendar.
The update mentioned in the text regarding the retrospective correction of leave requests will nonetheless be made available to you, as announced, during the course of the week. This will ensure you are also prepared for similar cases in the future.
Please note: Special consideration for leave requests
If there are no leave requests in your company covering the affected period (Thursday, 1 April 2021 and/or Saturday, 3 April 2021):
In this case, you can simply make the calendar adjustment by hand. To do so, please follow the instructions for setting up public holiday calendars.

If there are leave requests in your company covering the affected period (Thursday, 1 April 2021 and/or Saturday, 3 April 2021):
Please note that leave requests spanning one or both of the affected days will not be affected by the change to the public holiday calendar. This means: If you change the public holiday calendar at the current point in time (as of: 23.03.21), you will need to remove and re-create the corresponding leave requests manually. If you need support with this, our support team will be happy to help.
We are aware of this issue and will provide an update on it during the course of the week. With the update, the need for manual changes to leave requests will be eliminated.
We therefore recommend that if you have leave requests over Easter, you wait for the update before making the calendar adjustment. We will keep you informed via this channel about all further steps as soon as the update has been made.
