Definition

A body is a group of people dealing with a specific task. The actual task of the body is usually derived from its name. A decision-making body makes decisions.

Composition of a Decision-Making Body

A decision-making body should therefore

  • consist of an odd number of people, so that a majority can be reached when making decisions.
  • be represented by people with different values and perspectives, so that all sides can be taken into account when making a decision.
  • convene regular meetings in order to be able to respond more quickly to decisions.
  • establish where and how the members meet.
  • clarify what happens to the right to vote in the event of an inability to attend.
