Definition
The bottom-up method is an instrument of effort estimation. With it, individual work packages are estimated based on detailed planning. As a result, the required resources can be allocated more efficiently. Possible complications, such as public holidays and school holidays, are taken into account. This enables very precise planning.
The responsible project team member should demonstrate good specialist knowledge. This can prevent planning from being too generous. If there are deviations, however, it can be assumed that individual overestimated efforts will compensate for them. With an intelligent tool for resource planning potential problems and incorrect estimates can be countered effectively.
