Kanban

Kanban comes from the Japanese and means something like "visual signal". Nowadays it is a method to manage tasks or production processes. For this purpose, a kind of blackboard or board is used, which is classically divided into three columns - "Open tasks", "In progress" and "Done". It serves as an information overview of which tasks are still to be completed, which are being worked on and which have already been completed.

Due to the complexity of today's production systems, the use of a digital, computer-aided Kanban Board is inevitable. There, changes can be made quickly and from any workstation, and thus a quicker reaction is possible in case of bottlenecks or problems.
