Hosting

Definition

Hosting, or web hosting, refers to the provision of an internet-based service. In most cases, this involves the provision of storage space on a server.

Users of hosting services are generally provided with a certain share of server storage for a fee. This gives them the option to, e.g. upload their own websites or store or share their data online on the server (essentially their own cloud).
