Mobile apps

Mobile apps are found on smartphones or tablets. They can generally be installed via so-called “app stores”. They are also referred to as native apps, since an application has to be installed within the operating system.

Desktop apps

Desktop apps can be installed on PCs and laptops. They offer simplified functions of otherwise complex programs.

Web apps

Functional websites can also be installed as web apps on a smartphone, tablet or PC. They can then be opened directly, without any detour via a browser or other apps. In contrast to native apps, web apps do not need to be installed on the device.
