Changelog 2026.3

Highlights of the new projectfacts version

Almost everything in this release is meant to make your working day easier. AI leads the way: it condenses long ticket histories and puts evaluations into context, and through the MCP server you connect Claude or ChatGPT to projectfacts. On top of that come the rebuilt cost accounting and many small improvements, from drag and drop to an easier sync with Outlook.

AI in projectfacts

projectfacts summarises long ticket histories and puts reports into context, using your own AI access and only when someone calls the feature. What the AI does and what it deliberately does not do is covered on the AI features page and in the post projectfacts now works with AI.

Connecting projectfacts with ChatGPT and Claude

Through the new MCP server your colleagues ask their questions in plain language in an AI chat and get the answer from the data in projectfacts, always with the permissions of the signed-in user. Your administrator tailors the accesses per task. More on that in the post Connecting projectfacts with ChatGPT and Claude.

Cost accounting with automatic allocations

Primary postings only until now, from this release with internal transfers, allocations and internal activity charging, with a salary cost centre, planning and CM I and CM II per project, customer and business area. How it all fits together is explained on the cost accounting page, and the release details are in the post Cost accounting with automatic allocations.

Outlook via Microsoft Graph, now on the Mac as well

The sync with Outlook runs through Microsoft Graph. This removes the laborious setup on the Outlook clients, and Outlook for Mac can be synchronised too. What else the Microsoft 365 integration covers is on the integration page.

Sorting lists with the mouse

Projects, documents and many configuration lists can now be reordered by drag and drop instead of maintaining sort numbers.

Before you update

  • If you currently work with the previous Outlook synchronisation and would like to move to the sync via Microsoft Graph, please talk to us first. That avoids duplicates and other surprises.
  • The MCP server does not need to be installed. You enable it in the configuration and define there which tools an access contains. The steps are in the Help Center.

New features

  • Summarise longer ticket histories with AI: what was discussed and what remains to be done
  • Have reports summarised with AI
  • MCP server with individually configurable accesses, giving AI applications access to data from projectfacts
  • Cost accounting has been rebuilt: internal transfers, allocations and internal activity charging, planning, CM I and CM II as well as dedicated detail managers for cost centres, cost objects and cost types
  • Salary cost centre: booked hours relieve it, the remainder such as holiday, sickness or idle time is allocated to the projects
  • Cost accounting evaluations over time: monthly figures per cost centre, cost object and cost type, plus actual, plan and previous year side by side and the internal cost analysis by quarter
  • The sync via Microsoft Graph makes adjusting the Outlook clients unnecessary. Outlook for Mac can now be synchronised as well
  • Reordering projects, documents and many configuration lists by drag and drop
  • The file module supports the Markdown format. Such files can be edited directly in projectfacts
  • Meeting minutes can be stored as a Markdown file directly in projectfacts through a suitable MCP access and shown as a favourite in the main element
  • The new ApiExplorer helps when developing your own applications through the REST API
  • Certain multi-selection actions can now be used in aggregated lists as well
  • Ticket entries can be moved and copied into new or existing tickets
  • When an element is renamed, the associated file directory is renamed with it
  • Appointment descriptions can be formatted
  • Custom input fields for document PDFs can be sorted independently of their name
  • A revenue forecast can be shown for project times booked against capacities
  • The employee target value analysis can be switched from billable time to service time

Improvements

  • Cost centres, cost objects and cost types have their own tiles, lists and detail managers
  • The contribution margin is available daily per project, customer and business area, as CM I and, after internal charging, as CM II
  • Plan, actual and variance per month and cumulatively since the start of the year in cost accounting
  • All cost objects of a customer can be brought together into one overall picture
  • Improved conformity with the e-invoicing standard

Bug fixes

  • Fixed problems when confirming internal agreements
  • Fixed problems when splitting the billing analysis while using the forecast function
  • Circular references in documents are detected more reliably, and the performance of position dependencies has been improved
  • The stopwatch could not be started for open items
